Support
Representatives from the following agencies support and, in fact, were instrumental in assisting us with our initial planning.
- Douglas County Sheriff’s Office
- Douglas County Social Services
- Douglas County Juvenile Probation Office
- Nevada Division of Child and Family Services
- Douglas County Court Appointed Special Advocate Program
- Partnership of Community Resources
Law enforcement agencies recognize the need for a local children’s center. They are first on the scene when a child is removed from his/her home. They also recognize the importance of providing resources to children as soon as possible when there is trouble in their homes and the propensity for abused children to become adult offenders themselves.
Corporate Filings
The Carson Valley Children’s Center is a Nevada non-profit corporation. Our Articles of Incorporation have been filed, our Board of Directors is established and officers have been elected. The Board meets on the second Thursday of every month and meetings are open to anyone who is interested in attending. The 501©) (3) filing for non-profit status has been completed, submitted and approved by the Internal Revenue Service so that all donations will have tax benefits.
